This research work could find out the acute shortage of reference and additional materials in Xamtanga language, though, there is no deficiency of textbooks . These textbooks are prepared in line with students' age and ability and integrate contents and examples which can well express the culture and history of the area under study....Dearth of institutional support to produce reading materials and cultivate the language, however, negatively affects the implementation of Xamtanga language as a medium of Instruction....The constructive attitude of students, teachers and parents is a great opportunity to the success of of using Xamtanga as a school language. Moreover, extra curricular activities in the sample schools were found encouraging in helping the implementation of Xamtanga as a Medium of Instruction and also are compelling evidences to move the success ahead.

The author of this book, Yisma Tsige, holds his BA degree in Linguistics and an MA in Multicultural Education from Addis Ababa University. He has worked as instructor in Maichew ATVET college, a public relation and documentation expert in Sekota WOI, and currently a cultural industry development senior expert in Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
