A newly created occupational profile the "nursing assistant" and its implementation is one of the most central aspects of the reform, along with the transfer of the training of the higher service to the tertiary level. The task now is to ensure successful implementation of the new occupational group with an adequate skill and grade mix. The results show that both opportunities and risks can arise from the implementation of the new occupational group.

Adelheid Enöckl, MSc, MSc, worked for many years as a certified nurse and completed a master's degree in health sciences and nursing management as well as in health and nursing education at Danube University in Krems and conducted research in the field of nursing.
