This book is about the implementation of the CEFR in Uzbekistan, which is the internationally recognized framework for learning, teaching, and assessment. It became the requirement in teaching and learning languages in the Uzbekistan context from 2012 after the Presidential Decree 1875 about "The measures of strengthening the system of learning foreign languages". From 2013 onwards, the CEFR has been implemented and state educational standards and requirements have been put for each level. This study investigated the usefulness of the CEFR in teacher professional development according to Uzbekistani EFL teachers' perspectives, beliefs, and reasons behind their perceptions about this framework. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach, i.e. a combination of quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (semi-structured interview) data collection instruments. The study's findings showed that the majority of teachers are familiar with the CEFR through teacher training and read the document itself or related documents; also, they can understand and adapt the contents of it to their teaching practices and have positive perceptions about the implementation of the CEFR in the country.
