Chapter one reviews the Zambian education context with special focus on classroom teaching and learning processes. Chapter 2 discusses the different types of assessment and their influence on the teaching and learning processes. Chapter 3 provides a review of the various models of curriculum evaluation with a view to considering their appropriateness in the research design. Chapter 4 discusses models of curriculum implementation and the factors that hinder or promote successful implementation. Chapter 5 describes the research used in conducting the formative evaluation study. Chapters 6, 7 and 8 present findings from the different stakeholders. Chapter nine presents the conclusions and suggested recommendations for implementation.
