Disturbed by the gender discrimination in the Somaliland education sector, I wrote this book to focus on challenges girls face when they study in schools dominated by male teachers. Male domination remains an epidemic in the primary education teaching field. Girls get uncomfortable in the presence of male teachers especially when they are confronted by gender-sensitive needs. This makes girl education challenging as female teachers are less recruited to fill the gender gap. With the insightful evidence-based research and policy recommendations emphasized in this book, there are hopes that girls' primary education challenges will be addressed accordingly if government and local organisations use my ideas for problem-solving.
