The present research work has as its main focus the study of games and play for learning sports in Physical Education classes. This study aims to address the most varied interventions and stimuli performed by Physical Education teachers in the school environment and that lead to greater learning and development of students, at a time when they are at the beginning of their lives at school, where they conquer their first educational, social, cognitive, and motor progress. Thus, the specific objectives were: a) to identify the contents of Physical Education developed in the classroom; b) to identify the main activities related to games and play suitable for teaching sports and highlight the importance of these activities for the development of sports in elementary schools. The methodology used for its accomplishment was through bibliographic research, and also through the field work of quanti-qualitative research. There are several difficulties for Physical Education teachers, as they depend on several factors to carry out their classes.
