This study has been conducted to compare and contrast online and discussion classes in terms of speaking skill. Also, the researcher made an effort to realize the students' preference for each kind of class. This quan-QUAL study has been accompanied by different research methods such as interview and observation. The first phase of the research encompasses the quantitative data where the results of online and discussion classes to improve speaking skill were compared via SPSS before and after the treatment. In the second phase which deals with the qualitative date of the research, the students' preference towards online and discussion classes was made clear. To achieve this goal, apt instruments such as interview and observation were employed to arrive at legitimate data. The results indicated that online classes could demonstrate a better outcome in improving students' speaking skill than discussion one. Apart from that, the participants showed more willingness to participate inonline classes to improve their speaking as well as other skills.
