This is a research study that sought to improve, develop and enhance the core speaking skills of Senior High School (SHS) Students through a Model for Teaching Speaking, the Teaching-Speaking Cycle by Goh and Burns (2012). This is a pedagogical model for classroom implementation designed to provide learners a holistic experience for developing their speaking skills by providing a sequence of learning activities and series of lessons that focus on speaking. This study used Rubrics for Core Speaking Skills based on the performance of the students on actual classroom speaking tasks to describe their core speaking skills before and after the classroom implementation of the Teaching Speaking Model. It was found out that the core speaking skills of students were improved, developed and enhanced through the use of the Teaching Speaking Cycle.
