Tuberculosis is a major public health problem that claims lives in millions. The main challenges include barriers to accessing care and poor programme performance. Focused on identifying solutions to TB control in Ethiopia, demonstrated community based interventions that could improve program performance and reduce burden to the patient and community in rural settings. This included improving access to diagnosis and treatment, improving community awareness and reducing cost of seeking care. This work is continuation of interventions carried out in Southern Ethiopia. The work has mainly created additional basis for the introduction of community bases TB Care in the country.
