Der Walter Haug gewidmete Band enthält 23 Beiträge von Mediävisten, die in Tübingen mit ihm zusammengearbeitet haben. Die Thematik umspannt Heldenepik, höfischen Roman, Mystik (mit zwei Ersteditionen), Erzählliteratur im Spätmittelalter und Nachwirkung mittelalterlicher Literatur in Frührenaissance, Barock und Gegenwart ebenso wie das Grenzgebiet zwischen Literatur, Philosophie und Religion. Die Beiträge greifen zentrale Forschungen Walter Haugs auf und führen sie produktiv weiter. Im Miteinander von streng philologischer Textarbeit und theoretischer Reflexion eröffnet der Band neue Zugänge zum Verständnis mittelalterlicher Literatur.
