Publisher's Note: The name Jay Curtis is familiar, even legendary, in the television and film industry. Known as 'the Creative Lifeguard, ' Jay has won many awards for his work in television, including a 2004 Writer's Guild of America Award. At CBS, he helped launch such blockbuster hits as Everybody Loves Raymond, Survivor, Two and a Half Men, CSI:, NCIS, and The King of Queens. At the same time, Jay was privately pursuing his personal passion of writing poetry. In 2015, Jay received a diagnosis of ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, the same affliction being endured by Stephen Hawking. In this work of superb poetry, Jay Curtis shares his personal, courageous journey living with ALS. The poems here are rich, touching, beautiful, and insightful. They mix personal and public life with humor, inspiration, sorrow, love, but never self-pity. A portion of the proceeds of this poetic collection is being given to the ALS Association, alsa.org.
