This work presents the results of a survey conducted by Society for Promoting Education among Disadvantaged Groups (SPEDG) on the issue of problems faced by the women of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan in the field of education. The result of the survey showed that the women of FATA region were backward in the field of education due to several hurdles i.e. cultural barriers, poverty, lack of proper educational facilities, lack of government attention, far flung schools, poor quality of education, lack of scholarships and motivation, no exposure to the outside world, gender discrimination, extra work burden, no or little job opportunities, weak check and balance of teachers, militancy/talibanization, military operations, internal displacements and several others. At the end of this report, keeping the socio-economic and cultural conditions of the area in mind, several suggestions have been presented so for enhancement of educational facilities for the womenof FATA.
