A gullible 20 year-old Black girl seeks love without really knowing what a man's love feels like, and without any love for herself. She thinks she's found true love in a 29 year-old married man. Time and again she repeats a karmic cycle with the man who opened her up to exploring her womanhood and sexuality. Knowing her weaknesses, flaws, and insecurities, he uses them against her to get what he wants, when and how he wants it. No matter the cost. Constantly reassuring her that he is protecting her from other men in the world, and that no man will love her like he does. And then they have a child. But his insecurities, lies and manipulation catch up to him. The sex and relationship eventually become so toxic and overwhelming that the mental trauma, verbal threats, and physical attacks became the norm, and leads to their separation. But now her only child is in the care of the man's parents after she was unduly pressured to hand over custody. During her healing process and attempts to spend time with her child, not only must she battle the domestic violence, but also the man's family, who insists if she wants to see her child she must petition the court to get custody back. This book was written to educate women and bring awareness to domestic violence, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and trauma, so abused women can reflect and recognize toxicity and the signs of a bad relationship, and love themselves enough to walk away with peace and forgiveness in their hearts, knowing that they do deserve better.
