The book is a collection of eight papers and treatises studying diverse sociolinguistic aspects related to problems of language death, language shift, and language maintenance. It draws examples from various parts of the globe and from the history of various languages.
Autorenporträt
Miroslav Cerný teaches at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. His main research area is diachronic and synchronic sociolinguistics. He has authored several books, e.g. In Search of Language Horizons: Sociolinguistic Crossroads, Links, and Trajectories (LAP 2015).
