José de la Concepción Maceo González is one of the personalities that stands out during the 20th century in the socio-political sphere of Cuba, a stage that reached its highest point during the 40's. He was a Member of the Constituent Assembly in 1940, Member of the House of Representatives for the Oriente Province, Cuba from 1940 to 1944, Councilman of the City Hall of Palma Soriano (1944-1946), Mayor of Palma Soriano Municipality (1946-1948) and Governor of the Oriente Province from 1948 until his death in 1951. Despite this, his life has been little studied, so we have set ourselves the objective of eradicating the gaps that exist around the biography of the figure of Doctor Maceo González, reconstructing his origins, family, social and professional life as well as his socio-political activities. This is a research effort to unveil the man who in 1948 served as Governor of the Oriente Province, a position he held until his death in 1951.
