Michael Pietsch spent his childhood years in the open spaces of farm life. Today some would say it was an idyllic way to grow up. Most likely it was. Indeed it must have been because, to this day, he's still not sure whether his family was poor or well off.In the numerous decades since, life has taken him in many different directions providing a wide diversity of experiences. Recently, now free of the encumbrances attached to the earlier stages of life, he has been able to grasp a little of life's bigger picture, and experience some of the associated delights and pleasures of just being.Once Michael would have said that he has a wife, he has three children and he has six grandchildren. He now prefers to define himself as Michelle's husband, as the father of three adult children, and as the grandad of six beautiful grandchildren. There may also be an imaginary legal document out there in the cloud somewhere stating that he is part owner of the bit of land on which he lives. In reality he knows that he is the groundsperson. The real owner is the beautiful majestic old stringybark gum tree that has been residing there for around 250 years.
