R.T. SMITH is writer-in-residence at Washington & Lee University, where he has edited Shenandoah since 1995. His collections of poetry include The Red Wolf: A Dream of Flannery O'Connor, Brightwood, Trespasser, Messenger and Outlaw Style, the last two of which received the Library of Virginia Poetry Book of the Year Prize.
