Adverse effects on haematological parameters may lead to secondary health problems like hypoxia and reduction in immunity. In this book parasitic incidence was compared in stray and pet dog population in urban area. Some of the canine helminths like Gnathostoma spinigerum, Toxascaris spp. and Capillaria spp. were reported for the first time in the study area. Besides this certain helminths of zoonotic importance like Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis and Gnathostoma spinigerum were also reported. This book will be helpful in forming guidelines for minimizing zoonotic infections and to plan strategies for their control.
