The purpose of this text is to discuss the expressions 'inclusive education' and 'special educational needs', which are commonly used in the educational field, in view of the assumption that they represent ambiguous concepts, whose elucidation may be important for structuring practical references for pedagogical work in inclusive mainstream schools. Throughout the research, some passages from national and international documents that standardise the concepts of education, learning and teaching were analysed.

José Roberto Nogueira ha conseguito un master in educazione presso la Facoltà di Scienze dell'Educazione, una specializzazione in psicologia ospedaliera presso la Facoltà di Medicina (entrambi presso l'USP) e una laurea in psicologia, BA e BSc presso la PUC-SP. Attualmente sta studiando per un dottorato di ricerca presso l'Istituto di Psicologia dell'USP e insegna nelle scuole superiori di San Paolo.
