Mild-mannered English teacher Brian Smith has a big secret: he used to be a rock star. Kind of. In the summer of 2000, his one-hit-wonder punk band released a radio-friendly pop song and made it big. Then, just as quickly, it all fell apart. Though he's been living a quiet white-collar life for the last two decades, settled in his static suburban normalcy of treadmills and lesson plans and parenthood, a chance discovery leads to a collision between his old world and his new one. What happens when the rock & roll ghosts of the past come back to haunt you? This retired rock star is about to find out. Incomplete is a rock & roll version of The Goldfinch - with echoes of Nick Hornby and Frank McCourt. Autorenporträt
J.D. Levin is a mild-mannered librarian by day... and a mild-mannered rock & roller by night. He has worked as a public school educator for almost two decades - first as an English teacher, then as a Teacher Librarian. Outside of the classroom, he's written songs for The Briar Rose Ramblers, Far From Kansas, Kailua Moon, and Grammy-nominated slack-key guitarist Danny Carvalho. Levin is a graduate of UC Berkeley (BA '01), Stanford University (MA '02), CSUN (MA '09), and CSULB (TLSC '15). He lives on the central coast of California with his wife, two daughters, and cluttered collection of musical instruments. Incomplete is his first novel. LEARN MORE at www.notsosilentlibrarian.com
