In this paper, the main usages of articles will be discussed in order to help Hungarian learners of English to understand the rules of article usage and to spot the differences between the grammar rules of the two languages. With the help of real life examples, everybody can see how the indefinite article works based on the grammar rules. The final chapter contains pedagogical implications. The main differences in article usage between English and Hungarian are discussed, then tests are analysed. Finally, the necessity of error analysis and the correction of errors are discussed in order to help teachers to handle errors. The basics can help learners of English to understand correct article usages, the error analysis should be useful for teachers as well as learners to deal with the rules of article usage.
