It furthers compared the processes of the technology and identified the factors responsible for the sustainability of indigenous indigo textile dyeing in the face of foreign technology with a view to extracting information on indigenous technology of textile dyeing as a means of reviving the dwindling interest in the indigenous art of dyeing. It highlighted the production processes, the raw materials involved and the changes in the various areas understudied. The book also looked at the innumerable natural resources that man was blessed with, channels of distribution and the roles of government and private individuals on the sustainability of the indigo dyeing crafts.
