Nowadays, most industrial slags are being used without taking full advantages of their characteristics or disposed rather than used. Ground granulated blast furnace has been used for many years as a supplementary cementitious material in Portland cement concrete. This waste material typically replaces 35 65% Portland cement in concrete. Thus a 50% replacement of each ton of Portland cement would result in a reduction of approximately 500,000 t of CO2. On the other hand, using nanoparticles in concrete specimens is a relatively new concept which was proceeds over the past decade. In the present work, nanoparticles have been added to concrete specimen containing high volume ground granulated blast furnace to enhance their physical and mechanical properties. In the other words, nanotechnology and waste management have assisted each other to produce high strength green concrete.
