This monograph exposes some perspectives on the New Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, in which its potentialities, challenges and difficulties for its greater propagation in Brazil are investigated. With Industry 4.0, it is expected to raise productivity rates, flexibility, and intelligence of the means of production, which would result in more intelligent and automated factories. This paper investigates the benefits and the positive and negative effects of implementing a digitalized structure for manufacturing production. Finally, this monograph evaluates the expectations and challenges, in the view of companies in Brazil and worldwide, concerning this new stage of industrial production. The work elucidates that there are a range of benefits to be gained from incorporating the New Industrial Revolution in Brazil, however, there are also major challenges to be overcome for its greater diffusion.
