Sleep disorders in children is a highly prevalent problem, which has significant medical, psychological and social consequences. However they are under diagnosed and underreported. Gold standard diagnostic tool for sleep disorders is overnight polysomnography, however it has a few disadvantages. Hence the need for the development of simple, cheap and reliable diagnostic tool and a special interest has centered around biomarkers. This book gives an overview on various diagnostic methods, role of inflammatory biomarkers in sleep disorders and various inflammatory biomarkers used in the diagnosis of sleep disorders in children.
