Architectural Design has emerged through form, structure and function, influenced unintentionally by several Analogical Reasoning types. This book reviews these types and manifests them all through architectural paradigms and history. Since Vitruvius passing though proportionality, construction theory, personal styles, Symbolism; Sacred Architecture, ecological Architecture; Biogeometry and Biomimicry, Evolutionary Theories; Solar Geometry and Genetic Algorithm, flexibility, Complexity, and technology use, several types of analogical reasoning have been detected and determined. Analysis has been also encountered to pinpoint AR types through architectural history from Egyptian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Greek, Roman, Persian and Islamic Architecture. Nevertheless, these types has been tracked through the 19th century development; Art Nouveau, Fluid Architecture, Cubism, and Futurism. The 20th century and modernism from Bauhaus till minimalism, Post-modernism, Ultra Modernism and Visionary (Contemporary) Architecture have their share of study and analysis to list AR types. Finally, elaborated designs are inter/intradomain based i.e. creativity is relative to outsources.

Sammar Allam is an architect/engineer who graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt in 2004. Has received her MSc in Architecture in 2010. She is a PhD Candidate and a Fulbright Scholar in 2015. Has a work experience for more than ten years in Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design and Graphics using CAD.
