Low academic performance has become one of the worrying problems in education because of the high incidence rate in recent years. With the search for the factors that cause low academic performance, we notice that the family has a high value in front of the children's education since they are the product of the interaction between the resources provided by the family and those provided by the academy. It is important to take into account that the participation of both sides is different; while the home environment contributes to the formation of certain attitudes, the academy basically promotes opportunities, formulates ideas and reinforces behaviors. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to determine those factors in the family context that influence the academic performance of Surgical Instrumentation students, in order to identify the variables in the family environment related to the academic performance of the students, where it was possible to verify that certain characteristics of the family environment give rise to a more or less pleasant and motivating educational and emotional climate.
