Application of medicinal herbs in disease management is gaining success, because herbal treatment is cost effective, eco-friendly and has minimal side effects. This book emphasizes the influence of five herbal additives (garlic, ashwagandha, phyllanthus, aloe and tulsi) on the growth, gonad development and disease resistance in goldfish, Carassius auratus. It is hoped that this publication presentedin an easy- to- read style with a number of photographs and illustrations would be of great use to all students who have fisheries in their curriculum and also a standard guide for the researchers.

AUTHOR¿S CVThe main author Dr.B.Ahilan, is working as Professor in the Department of Aquaculture, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Thoothukudi. He did his Ph.D., in Aquaculture and has put up a total service of 21 years in the University. He is teaching Aquaculture related courses.
