The use of power in the office by library personnel and their career progression in the Federal civil service of Nigeria is at a low ebb. As a result, official functions are sidelined by administrative officers and this often lead to frustration and lack of job satisfaction. This study therefore present a cor relational study on influence of power and career progression on job satisfaction of library personnel in the Federal civil service of Nigeria. Total enumeration technique was used to administer questionnaires on 450 respondents from 29 Federal ministries and 44 Extra-ministerial Departments. The response rate achieved was 94.67%. The study found out that there were significant relationship among the variables of power, career progression and job satisfaction. Therefore, it is recommended that library personnel should be more committed to professional duties to enhance career progression and the use of power of office for job satisfaction.
