The research aimed at finding out how some home environmental factors influence academic performance among school students in public secondary schools in Ngong Division. The central problem was that although students are taught by the same teachers, cover the same syllabus and have same facilities, their academic performance differed greatly.The study was carried out in six public secondary schools in Ngong Division with a target population comprising of form four students. Ex post facto design was adopted. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the sampled schools. Systematic sampling technique was used to identify the sample among the students. Data was collected using a questionnaire which was administered to the students. The instrument was pre-tested in two schools and by thirty students. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data collected using the SPSS package.
