SuleimaneThe Castanhão Dam is Ceará's most important water facility and was built with support from the federal government. In addition to being considered the "lung" of Ceará's Integrated Water Resources System, including as a recipient of the waters of the São Francisco River, making it possible to increase the guarantee of raw water, it was the most successful model of dam construction in the Northeast of Brazil. In this sense, the article aims to verify the influence of Castanhão on the quality of life of farmers resettled in Currupati Irrigation and to measure the levels of agricultural sustainability of these farmers using sustainability indicators. The study was based on primary data, resulting from the application of a semi-structured questionnaire to collect quantitative and qualitative information from resettled farmers in the Currupati irrigation resettlement.
