About the Author Dr. Forster is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ford School of Public Policy University of Michigan and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ARTIS Research and Risk Modeling. From October 2010 to August 2011 she was a Visiting Research Scholar, Strategic Research Department at the Naval War College. She has also been Visiting Research Scholar in the Department of International Relations at Boston University (August 2009-August 2010) and the Department of Government and International Relations at Clark University (May 2008-August 2009). She earned a doctoral degree in political science at the University of Zurich in 2010. She is the author or coauthor of a number of articles and reviews; a book, entitled A Global Force for Good: The U.S. Navy's Role in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, with Professor Albert Shimkus, is forthcoming.
