I want to feel I am making a difference at work. For me,developing and implementing a user-centred intranet became achallenge for influencing the organisational culture where Iworked. Being in a management role, I undertook managementinterventions to support the project. During the project, Idiscovered a sub-role for myself- internal communicationmanagement. This role often exists informally if at all. Yet, Icame to believe that internal communication is a vital aspect oforganisational culture where there is a fast pace of change. I alsocame to embrace a networked organisational paradigm whichencourages internal networking and employee participation. Nomatter what role you are in, whether Management, IT or New Media, Ihope you will become more informed about these aspects oforganisational culture, internal communication technology andorganisational practices that relate to them. I also hope you willuse this knowledge to positively influence your organisationalculture.
