The mission of the paper is to analyze the information exchanging flows in transport chain and their support by existent XML-based standards. The study is focused on goods transportation in transport chain. The first purpose is to set up a transport chain model with the actors who take part in transport activities and to analyze the information exchanges between them in the transport chain model. The second purpose is to research that in how far the information exchanges in transport chain are facilitated electronically by the selected XML-based standards. Three XML-based standards are chosen for the research, namely RosettaNet Standard, OAGIS 9.0 and ebXML. The contributions of these three XML-based standards to the electrical information exchange between different actors are investigated to make it clear how far they have already optimized the communication and what are still expected. As a conclusion, the selected XML-based standards are compared and evaluated with the definedcriteria. The advantages and disadvantages are discussed.
