Information is basic need of human. Information need is subjective and varies from an individual to individual. Scientists need information for knowledge, research, teaching and other activities. This book gives insight into information seeking behaviour of the scientists working in the universities in electronic environment. Information seeking is a process adopted to acquire information using both manual and technological methods. Information seeking behaviour refers to the way an individual seek and use information. The present study tries to explore university scientists' information seeking patterns and methods to search, retrieve and use information effectively for research and teaching. Scientists use electronic information resources extensively and e-information resources assume great importance in their teaching and research work. Their information seeking behaviour is analysed in the light of major information seeking models. Various information seeking models are also discussed.
