The role of computer software is under significant demand over the time span of little more than 50 years. The dramatic improvements in hardware performance, profound changes in computing architecture, vast increase in memory and storage capacity and a wide variety of exotic input and output options have precipitated more sophisticated and complex computer-based systems. The sophistication and complexity creates dazzling results when a software system succeeds, but they can also pose huge problems for those who wish to build complex systems. The world wide web and the internet have pulled the general populace into the world of computing and information age. The purchase of stock and mutual funds, download music, view movies, get medical advice, booking hotel rooms, scheduled airline flights, do banking, take college courses, buy glossaries, made to just about a virtual world of the web. Arguably, the web and the internet which empowered it are the most important developments in the history of computing. This work presents the design and implementation of an information storage and retrieval system based on Miscrosoft .NET framework, suitable for research and corporal work.
