Traditional software products that are focused on stationary PCs remain as important means of information marketing tools and information technology support for businesses in the sphere of tourism. However, more and more tourists are using their mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) for planning their next trip, studying tourism destinations, booking hotel rooms etc. The authors are working on informational technological project of intellectual information system "Mobile tourist information assistant" within which a prototype of mobile software complex of the next generation. The aim of "Mobile tourist information assistant" (MIAT) project is developing of innovational intellectual software and algorithmic complex that is focused on informational and technological support and guidance of the tourist in order to arrange informative and safe trip. The research that is presented is devoted to the architecture and algorithms of functioning of the system MIAT. The main features of thesystem are mobility, personalised informational content and wide range of tourist recommendations.
