This book aims to be a reference for analysis and reflection on teaching practices, especially those involved in the process of initial literacy. To this end, questions such as: What is taught, how is it taught, and what is it taught for, are raised. Understanding language as an object of study and as a means of acquiring new learning. To speak of initial literacy is to refer to a process that makes it possible to lay the foundations for learning for life. Inspired by the students who go through this process without the necessary accompaniment and who learn to read and write in a conventional way through the teaching of the code, thus neglecting the social use of language.The reflections that are achieved from reading it are aimed at improving teaching practices, in order to ensure that the experience of reading begins with reading the world before moving on to reading the word (Freire, 1991).
