Initial teacher training is a milestone in a teacher's professional life. In it, teachers learn a set of skills necessary for their practice, although it is not only this period that conditions teaching professionalism, which is also imbricated in pre-professional experiences and the socialization of work at school. In this sense, there is a complexity implicit in the teacher training process, and experiences in which the teacher can be in a constant process of action/reflection/action are fundamental. However, degree courses present different challenges in fulfilling this task. It is in this sense that various policies have been implemented in Brazil in an attempt to overcome these limits. Among them is the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID), one of the aims of which is to encourage the training of teachers for basic education, contributing to raising the quality of public schools.
