Eine schwarze Katze für eine Hexe mag vielleicht ein Klischee sein, aber wenn man noch eine ganze Menge Tribal-Tattoos dazu nimmt und eine Unverträglichkeit für Knoblauch (ganz im Ernst!), dann hat man ISABELLE ROWAN. Als kleines Kind von England nach Australien gekommen lebt Isabelle heute in einem Vorort von Melbourne am Meer, wo sie Filmemacherei und Englisch unterrichtet. Sie ist süchtig nach Filmen und gibt viel zuviel Geld für Reisen aus ... aber andererseits ist das Leben dazu gedacht, gelebt zu werden.
