Brenda Saunders is a writer and artist of Wiradjuri and British heritage. She has published three poetry collections and is a mentor for Black Cockatoo, the Indigenous Poetry site at Verity La. For many years, Brenda was an activist working for the National Aboriginal History and Heritage Council, fighting for Land Rights and the protection of Aboriginal Heritage sites. As a keen birdwatcher, Brenda has travelled widely, crossing the country to gather new stories and new songs.
