The present dissertation, with the theme Institutional Management Strategies used by HEIs in Mozambique in the face of the Economic Crisis: A Comparative Study between Unipúnguè-Tete and UP-Maputo, has the objective of knowing the Institutional Management Strategies used by Unipúnguè-Tete and UP- Maputo in the face of the Economic Crisis. For the research, we started with the assumptions that the higher education institutions in Mozambique survived the economic crisis thanks to a set of containment strategies in the management of the institution in the face of budget deficit, but these strategies are unknown due to lack of research in this area. Given this situation, we used the questionnaire as a data collection instrument to the managers of these two higher education institutions, whose data confirmed that in fact there was a set of strategies adopted by the managers to survive the crisis, although not the same for the two institutions and among the managers of the same institution, among which, the classification of expenditure in primary, the highest priority.
