The world population has increased tremendously during recent past. The rapid rate of population growth over a period has been tremendous pressure on land. There is little scope of bringing additional area under cultivation. Further increase in crop production will be achieved by raising yield levels and cropping intensity. Raising two or more crops within a given time span and by exploiting the space more efficiently by planting crops of varying architecture may increase total yield and cropping intensity. The increasing cost of fertilizers and poor economic condition of farmers make it imperative to adopt integrated nutrient management. This book may serve to standardize the methods of nutrient application through integrated nutrient management for pigeonpea based intercropping system, used as source of protein and carbohydrate (food grain) and helps to achieve the highest crop yield with best nutrient management practices under less limited environment. It will be also useful to aavoid the under and overdose of nutrient application and maintain the sustainability. I am reassure the readers will enjoy this work as well as find it very educative.
