Autorenporträt
Dr. Sean Stein Smith is a recognized subject matter expert in the fields of integrated reporting, the changing accounting profession, and the intersection of stakeholder reporting, and management decision making. Building on his doctoral research and analysis, which quantitatively studied the implications of integrated reporting on financial performance, Sean has continued to explore and research what integrated reporting means for the marketplace, accounting practitioners, and management professionals. As a tenure track academic at the City University of New York, and leveraging previous experience working in private industry, he takes a hands-on approach to topical analysis to build on both market available information and his own experience. In addition to having published numerous articles, Dr. Smith also presents at national and regional level conferences and conventions. He is the author of the newly published book, Strategic Management Accounting (2017) with Business Expert Press which provides an analysis of trends generating an impact on the accounting field. He is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Sustainability, Accounting, & Policy. He is currently a tenure track faculty member at Lehman College where he teaches Intermediate Accounting, focusing on advanced applications of certain accounting principles and Advanced Accounting Problems, drilling in to specific applications of advanced accounting concepts and principles. He holds a Doctorate of Business Administration with a specialization in Strategy & Innovation from Capella University. His doctoral dissertation was titled: Effect of Integrated Reporting on Financial Performance.
