This book, Integrating Spirituality with Psychology and Professional Ethics: A Lay Counseling Case Study, for Holistic Counseling, challenges the stance where groups use traditional approaches that risk harm to clients. The purpose of the research was to establish the need for integrating spirituality with psychology and professional ethics in counseling. It established that integration can be complementary for services offered to clients, while differentiating between counseling and missionary work. This depends on the services the helper offers and those that the client seeks at any given time. The relevant literature review supports this concern where spiritual beliefs and practices are used in counseling with rare use of scientific empirical knowledge. The methodology was a descriptive systematic collection of data. The research had a global representation involving lay counselors from 34 spiritual groups represented at the Pan Africa Christian University, in Roysambu. The research highly recommends that serious effort be put in lay counseling practice. The book is recommended for lay and professional counselors, supervisors and trainers in a spiritual worldview among others.
