Moxifloxacin is a fourth generation fluoroquinolone has potent activity against Gram-positive bacteria, especially against pneumococcus and anaerobes, and still retain excellent activity against aerobic Gram-negative pathogens. I developed different methods for simultaneous determination of quinolones with different interacting drugs and performed drug-drug and drug-metals interactions by using these methods. We have synthesized derivatives and metal complexes of quinolones and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, 1HNMR and mass spectrometry). The in-vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities of resulting complexes and derivatives were also performed and compared with the parent drug. Enzymatic activities of all synthesized compounds were carried out against different enzymes including urease, carbonic anhydrase, and -chymotrypsin.
