Intercultural Communicative Competence is widely used in many areas, contexts and situations where cultural diversity is in question. Cultural diversity, which is the result of immigrations, development of the Internet social media, means of telecommunication, tourism, commerce etc. creates pluralism and interculturalism. In today's world, language learning has been promoted all around the world to be able to communicate with the "others" and understand "them". Learning languages is seen as learning cultures so teaching cultures should be embedded in teaching languages. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world, where intercultural communication competence strategies should be practiced in both formal and informal settings. After the tragic problems the country has faced in recent years, the need to build intercultural communication competence skills in children in the educational settings through schools has vital importance. Our main aim in this study is to evaluate the materials which are taught in BIH from the perspective of intercultural communicative competence.
