To accomplish these tasks, AMC builds a "virtual" air mobility superhighway across the globe to move forces where needed. Traditionally, interdiction is thought of as an action the US does to enemy forces prior to them reaching the battlefield, However, little thought is given to how interdiction may be used against US forces to reduce its power projection capability. Some non-state actors, such as AI Qaeda, possess the means to interdict the air mobility superhighway using techniques from the emergence of fourth generation warfare (4GW).
