The present work is devoted to the linguistic interference resulting from the Franco-Russian contact. The study of language interaction in the sociolinguistic context of the philological faculties with the French language is a tangible contribution to the solution of language variability and language interference. Contact linguistics requires updating the research apparatus by attracting the latest theoretical developments, introducing into scientific use a system of concepts related to the peculiarities of the French language functioning outside the metropolitan area. The French language of the philological faculties is, on the one hand, a communicative instrument subject to the literary norm of the Central French variant and, on the other hand, a system of specific states characterized by interfering influence of the native language of students. It is these specific states that allow to assert that within the philological faculties with the French language there is a "student" variant of the French language.
