The book is about investigating or finding out more about factors that influence the uptake of IPTp in pregnancy at the Redemption Hospital, one of the referral hospitals in Liberia. Malaria infection in pregnancy poses a high burden on the health of the public, with significant threats for the mother, the unborn child and eventually the newborn. However, malaria effect in pregnancy such as mortality and morbidity is most prominent in areas of sub-Saharan Africa where there is widespread transmission. This study aimed to ascertain factors that influence the uptake of Intermittent Preventive Treatment (IPTp) of Malaria among pregnant women in the Redemption Hospital. Malaria in Liberia generates serious burden. The spread of malaria is every year situation in Liberia within all regions, rendering an estimated 4.8 million people at risk (Health Facility Survey, 2018). The Liberia 2018 Health Facility Survey (HFS) established that 34% of all outpatient consultations and an estimated48% of inpatient cases result from malaria mortality and morbidity. The most vulnerable groups that suffers from the effects of malaria were found to be children under five and pregnant women.
